Additional to the traditional exercises you also get my own etudes
For beginners…For advanced players…Improvisation training for Classical Musicians…
For beginners – first steps
No problem, if you have never studied music or you cannot read notes, the most important thing you need is the joy of playing music! There is no age limit to start learning! If you have already been dreaming of playing saxophone for a long time, but haven’t taken the first steps yet, do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
Playing the saxophone well does not only depend on the perfect embouchure or the correct way of moving your fingers. In addition to continuously developing and improving your technique, there will be aural exercises and exercises in style fitting to your skills and interests. I believe that learning an instrument (and teaching too!) can enrich everyone.
For advanced players – Various ways for development
The style of the best jazz saxophonists (like the brilliant Stan Getz and many others) fascinates us all, but during the learning process one can often feel, that the „target” (a brilliant technique or sound) is far away. Usually the proper drills can help us to go further, and these should not be necessarily boring or monotonous. During my teaching experience I have developed an etude book of my own. It may sound surprising, but the kind of simple technical base etudes gives (beside of our own fantasy) forms the solid ground for improvisation to flourish. With these exercises the advanced players can also assess their current level and in so doing together we can find the most beneficial way to your advancement. Your personal interests are more than welcome. Customized exercises in style, in improvisation and in harmonics can be part of the lesson, too.
For real pros
You can explore new styles, like improvisation, jazz or blues: with tailor-made exercises we can contribute to your musical enrichment. Improvisation training for classical musicians: Not only for clarinettists and saxophonists, also for brass and wind players who would like to learn more about improvisation. During my lessons we will explore the proper notes and the emotional construction of the solos
